Considered as the most popular route when Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, The Marangu Route is the shortest way and least difficult route to Uhuru Peak. The Marangu route is also well known as the Tourist Route or the Coca Cola Route. Most of the Climbers about 70% choose this route, this is because most of the routes consist of easy hiking and again The Marangu Route is impartially relaxed but the ending part to reach the summit is silent difficult.
KILIMANJARO CLIMBING MARANGU ROUTE 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS
Safarika Africa Mountain Guide’s advice all climbers who wish to take Kilimanjaro Climbing Marangu Route 5 Days 4 Nights to take Marangu Route seriously enough, all climbers must be well organized but also taking all possible safety measure for them to get to the top of Africa.
Marangu Route is the only route with HUTS. All the camps via the Marangu route sell some goods at the camp, goods like Chocolates, Beer, Mineral Water, and soft drinks. Each camp has a radio to contact the Park Office.
The Marangu route can be completed in 5,6Days or even 7 days but it is recommended to take an extra day at Horombo Hut when taking 5 days for acclimatization. At this hut of Horombo, it’s the only campsite with beds and mattresses while Climbing Kilimanjaro.
Although the Marangu Route is the easiest way to the summit, because of bad preparation this route results in the highest failure rate.
DAY 1: MOSHI – MARANGU GATE – MANDARA HUT
Today our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Moshi and make the Drive to Kilimanjaro Nation Park.
After reaching the Park, Our Guide will make a detailed briefing for the Climb before ascending through the stunning rainforest in the deep beauty of Kilimanjaro.
Through an ancient jungle, the hike takes 5-6 hours, on the way you will have an opportunity to spot some wildlife creatures such as white and black Colobus monkeys.
On this day, you will spend your night at the modern Mandala Hut, the huts contain some luxuries such as Solar lighting and Flush toilets. Enjoy your overnight as you won’t be seeing them any time soon!
DAY 2: MOSHI – MARANGU GATE – MANDARA HUT
You will wake up early today in the morning, as you’ve got a long hike to the roof of Africa!
The hike of today takes you from the green rainforest into the plain mountainous zone, here you will trek over more than 11 kilometers heading to the Maundi Crater.
If the weather conditions are vibrant, you will have to see the spectacular view of Kibo Glacier from here before relaxing down for the sunset.
DAY 3: HOROMBO HUT – KIBO HUT
Congratulation on the past two days of your hike, it’s day three now. Today you will make your hike from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut.
The climb to almost 1,000m, then you’ll pass to the last watering point at the 4,130 marks before you arrive at the Kibo Hut in the afternoon.
During your early dinner, we remind you to drink plenty of water as you will have to wake up early tomorrow to start your hike to the Summit of Kilimanjaro.
DAY 4: KIBO HUT – UHURU PEAK – HOROMBO HUT
Just after the midnight relaxation, in fact, you will start your day early today!
Our crew will greet you with a cup of hot tea with an alight snack for you to get energy as you get dressed and ready for today’s hike.
You’ll be climbing through the absolute darkness for the next 5 to 7 hours, you will have to take it easy and slow, and without noticing you will arrive at Stella Point in few moments. From here there will be powerful hiking before you reach your final goal of Uhuru Peak and this takes about another two hours.
While standing at 5,985m, Boom!! You have Done it!!
You’ll be able to experience a stunning sunrise and take in the panoramic view.
After this unforgettable experience, you’ll then decent back to Horombo Hut Via Kibo Hut. As the descending hike takes up to 12-16 hours, for sure this will be one of the extended and most exhausting days of your life!
DAY 5: HOROMBO HUT – MARANGU GATE – MOSHI
Wow!! You have Made it!!
Today is the Celebration, you have become one of the few people who have ever take a hike to the roof of Africa.
After breakfast, you will descend to Marangu Gate. It’s about a 20km hike to reach the gate. Here you’ll get to celebrate with your porters and guides for the successfully Climb. You will provide them with their Tips for their hard work.
After the Party remembers to take your Certificate of completion.
And this marks the end of your Kilimanjaro Climbing Marangu Route 5 Days 4 Nights
Your driver will then pick you up and drive to Arusha hotel for a well-earned relaxation and prepare for wild safaris, or drive you to the airport for your flight.
